Michael Streck (lawyer)

Michael Streck (born March 8, 1941 in Bad Godesberg ) was a senior partner in one of the largest German law firms specializing in tax law (partnership from 2014). From 1998 to 2003 he was President of the German Lawyers' Association .

Life

Michael Streck attended high school in Bonn before studying law at the Universities of Bonn and Lausanne . In 1969 he received his doctorate with a thesis in family law ( general clause and indefinite term in the law of general marriage effects ). From 1970 to 1975 he worked for the financial administration of North Rhine-Westphalia , most recently as a senior government councilor. Following this, he became a partner in the Felix law firm in Cologne in 1975. In 1984 he founded his own tax law firm Streck und Rainer (today: Streck Mack Schwedhelm ; partnership since 2014), from which he left at the end of 2015. From 1998 to 2003 he was President of the German Lawyers' Association. From 2011 to 2014 he headed the Professional Ethics Committee of the German Lawyers' Association, and from 2004 to 2011 its professional law committee. Until 2015 he was co-editor of the Neue Juristische Wochenschrift .

Private

Michael Streck is married for the second time after the death of his wife. He has three daughters from his first marriage and lives in Cologne.
