Edith Langner

Edith Langner (born January 23, 1913 in Posen ; † December 7, 1986 in Siegen) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and secondary school with the completion of secondary school, she attended the kindergarten teachers' seminar and completed it with the state examination. She worked as a kindergarten teacher, private tutor and as an employee of the Inner Mission in Siegen. In 1947 Langner became a member of the CDU. She was represented in numerous committees of the CDU at city and district level, u. a. as a member of the board of the CDU district association Siegen. She was also Presbyterin her evangelical church in Siegen.

From July 25, 1966 to May 27, 1975, Langner was a member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia for the 6th and 7th electoral terms. She was elected from her party's national list.

She was a member of the city council of Siegen from 1952 to 1971.

Edith Langner was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on the ribbon of the Order of Merit.
