Edith Michaeler

Edith Michaeler (born May 5, 1980 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian media expert, journalist and trainer. She deals with media innovation and online journalism and develops digital journalism projects. Her core topics are multimedia storytelling , entrepreneurial journalism and - at the format level - podcasts .

Career

In 2015 Edith Michaeler completed the part-time master’s degree "IMIM - International Media Innovation Management" with a thesis on storytelling in corporate communication for SMEs . From 1999-2004 she studied history and political science at the University of Vienna and the Institut d'études politiques de Paris .

She has been a certified trainer in journalism since 2015, and from 2004-2005 she attended the journalism and PR course "Medienakademie Euregio-Pannonia". Since 2018 she has been producing and moderating the Vienna podcast "Tell me about Vienna". She is a founding member of the Austrian podcast network Missing Link. The project developed from her Storytopia generated user-for storytelling in the first tranche of Medieninitiaive for journalistic innovation of the Vienna Business Agency promoted.

Edith Michaeler leads the digital journalism certificate course and the digital journalism masterclass at fjum_forum journalismus und medien , an innovative training facility for journalists and media professionals . From 2014 to 2016 she set up the Vienna office of the Board of Trustees for Journalist Training. She holds workshops on online journalism, storytelling and media innovation at fjum_forum journalismus und medien, at Commit and the European Leadership and Debate Academy (ELDA).

She has developed and managed digital communication projects for the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights , the Association of Internet Service Providers Austria (ISPA) and the research and development department of the Austrian National Library . As an author it has been published by the Styria Media Group and Müry Salzmann Verlag , among others .
