Edmonton is a city in the US state of Kentucky and the county seat of Metcalfe County .
history
The site of the future city was first described and occupied by Edmund P. Rogers , a Virginia War of Independence veteran , in 1800. In 1836 the city was founded as a trading post on land provided by Rogers and was declared a county seat in 1860.

The southern rock band Black Stone Cherry and the country rock formation The Kentucky Headhunters ( Grammy 1990 in the category Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal ) come from Edmonton.
