Edmund William Bury (born November 4, 1884 in London , † December 5, 1915 in Laventie , France ) was a British racket player .

successes

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 Edmund Bury took part in the racket competitions in doubles. Together with Cecil Browning , he secured the silver medal. There were only two games in total in the competition. In the semifinals, John Jacob Astor and Vane Pennell prevailed against Evan Baillie Noel and Henry Leaf , so that in the final, Bury and Browning met Astor and Pennell. The latter won the game with 6:15, 15: 7, 16:15, 15: 6 and 15: 7.

Bury served in the 11th Battalion of the King's Royal Rifle Corps during World War I and was a captain . He fell in Laventie in 1915 .
