Edmund Veckenstedt

Edmund Veckenstedt (born January 7, 1840 in Vehlitz ; † February 7, 1903 ) was a German educator , historian , ethnologist and author .

Life

Veckenstedt worked as a teacher in Cottbus and from 1879 to 1882 as a professor of ancient languages ​​and literature at the Nicolai-Gymnasium in Libau . As an author, he published several works. He published some of his works under the pseudonym Heinrich Veltheim . In 1883 he left school and devoted himself to folkloric and ethnological publication activities in Leipzig. From 1884 he was editor-in-chief of the journal Von nah und Fern and in 1889 he founded the Zeitschrift für Volkskunde .
