history

The all-wood, motor-driven boat was built in North Carolina in 1956 . It was 56  ft (17.1  m ) long, 16 ft (4.9 m) wide and had a draft of 6 ft (1.8 m). The Edna G. was initially used by the Pamlico Packing Company until she moved her home port to Portland, Maine in 1972 . From 1977 she was stationed in Gloucester, Massachusetts .

In 1988, during a fishing trip, the ship ran full of water within 30 minutes and sank, and the two crew members were rescued. The cause is still unclear today. The wreck lies at a depth of around 300 ft (91.4 m).
