Edouard Verstraeten
Edouard Verstraeten (born September 15, 1948 in Leuven , Belgium, † December 7, 2005 in Booischot , Belgium) was a Belgian cyclist .
After he won a stage in the Peace Ride in 1970 , he became a professional with the Belgian cycling team Geens-Watneys . His greatest successes included two stage wins at the Tour de France in 1973 and winning the semi-classic GP Pino Cerami in 1975. During his professional career, Verstraeten drove exclusively with Belgian teams, most recently in 1981 with Vermeer-Thijs .
