Eduard Albácar Gallego , or Edu Albácar for short (born November 16, 1979 in Tortosa ) is a Spanish football player who plays for FC Elche in the Spanish Segunda División .

Player career

Edu Albácar started his career as a footballer in 2001 at Espanyol Barcelona , where he was only used in the B team. After two years in which he could not recommend himself for the first team, he went to the lower class Novelda CF. There he was able to convince, which is why he moved to the promotion candidate FC Alicante after a year . With the Alicantines, however, he failed in each of the two years at the season goal, which is why he left the club, but not the city. From summer 2006 to 2008 Edu Albácar was under contract with the Spanish second division club Hércules CF. After a few changes to Deportivo Alavés and Rayo Vallecano , he played for FC Elche , the rival of Hercules CF, since 2010 . Due to the rise of FC Elche at the end of the 2012/2013 season, he played in the Primera División until he was eliminated in summer 2015 . After a season break, he received another two-year contract with FC Elche in the summer of 2016, which had meanwhile been relegated to the Segunda División due to financial problems and despite sporting success.
