Eduard Götz

Eduard Götz (born April 12, 1876 in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate ; † January 8, 1961 there ) was a German master painter, decorative painter and painter.

Growing up as the son of a master painter in Weiden, he trained as a painter in his father's company after primary school. He also took drawing lessons at the Weiden secondary school from 1889 to 1894. This was followed by studies at the arts and crafts school in Munich in the master class of Prof. Dietl and a two-year training course for church furnishings with the Landshut architect Weiß. In 1905 he made the master's examination in painting. On November 14, 1918, he opened his own studio as a workshop for decorative work in Weiden. His regionally known works also include the design for the mosaic on the gable of the old town hall in Weiden.

Götz was the brother of Leo Götz and brother-in-law of Wilhelm Vierling .
