Eduard Jacobshagen

Eduard Jacobshagen (born May 12, 1886 in Hämelschenburg , † December 22, 1968 in Marburg ) was a German anatomist and professor at the University of Marburg .

From 1906 to 1911 Jacobshagen studied natural sciences and medicine at the universities of Jena and Munich . From 1915 to 1918 he served in the First World War. In 1912 he received his doctorate and in 1919 he qualified as a professor in anatomy, comparative anatomy and history of development at the University of Jena. In 1921 the private lecturer moved to Leipzig , where he was ao. Professor of Anatomy. Since 1926 he had a chair for anatomy in Marburg. He dealt with the anatomy of vertebrates and with characteristics of the Nordic and Frisian "race". He was released in 1945, but reinstated in 1949 and retired again in 1957.

Since May 1933 he was a member of the NSDAP , also in the NS-Ärztebund , in the NS-Lehrerbund , in the NSV . In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . Before and after the war he was involved in the preservation of monuments .
