Eduard Krause (soccer player)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eduard Krause , called Ede Krause , was a German football player.

Career

Eduard Krause's first known football station is at Masovia Lyck . For Masovia he played at least since the 1936/37 season in the Gauliga East Prussia and is mentioned as the team captain in the 1938/39 season. He then moved to the previous league competitor VfB Königsberg for the 1939/40 season . Masovia Lyck ran into financial difficulties and voluntarily withdrew from the Gauliga in 1939. During his time at VfB Königsberg, the midfielder was East Prussian champion at least twice and took part in (at least) six games for the German championship. In 1942 Krause, who was also a selection player for East Prussia, reached the round of 16 at the German soccer championship; a year earlier, VfB had failed early in the group stage for the DM. It is not known whether Ede Krause played for the Königsberg team after the 1941/42 season or played for another club.

It is also not entirely clear whether at the end of 1939 Kurt Krause or Ede Krause was used three times as a so-called war guest player for Wormatia Worms .

After the Second World War , Krause went to Eckernförder SV , with whom he - at times together with the other former VfB Königsberg players Kurt Baluses , Kurt Krause and Kurt Lingnau - initially in the points round for the district championship (top division at that time, champion 1946) and from 1947 in the Schleswig-Holstein state league (second highest division at that time) played. At Eckernförder SV, Krause was also a player- coach at times (1947/48) .

In 1951 Ede Krause moved to SuS Niederschelden / Gosenbach ( Siegen ) and played with the club in the highest amateur league in Westphalia. There were also former teammates from Eckernförder SV, such as u. a. Gerhard Thiele, Wolfgang Schwerdtfeger and Gerhard Teichert. In 1953 SuS came up to the final qualification for the Westphalia Championship.
