Kurt-Joachim Krause - called Jockel Krause or Jokel Krause - (born March 28, 1920 in Florlauken , Labiau district , † May 1987 ) was a German football player and coach .

Player career

The multiple Gauselected player East Prussia and the Baltic Association began his football career at FC Preußen Gumbinnen and then moved to VfB Königsberg . With VfB Königsberg, Krause was East Prussia champion five times in a row between 1940 and 1944 and reached the finals for the German championship, in which Königsberg was only eliminated in the quarter-finals in 1942.

As a war guest player he came (probably - a mix-up with Eduard Krause is possible) in 1939 at Wormatia Worms .

After the Second World War, he first played for Eckernförder SV , with whom he was, among other things, district champion in the top division at the time in the British zone (see: district championship league) and in 1947/48 national league championship. According to individual information, Kurt Krause temporarily acted as a player -coach at Eckernförder SV - possibly for a short time as the direct successor to Kurt Baluse in 1947; However, this information could also be confused with Eduard Krause, who, like Kurt Krause, was also a VfB Königsberg player. In 1948 Kurt Krause moved to Itzehoer SV , which rose to the Oberliga Nord in 1950 under player-coach Kurt Baluses - but was relegated again after only one season. Krause had already played in one team with the ISV teammate Baluse, Kurt Lingnau , in Königsberg, in the East Prussian national team and in Eckernförde, with Erwin Scheffler in Königsberg.

Coaching career

As a trainer, he supervised a. Altona 93 from 1960 to 1965 in the Oberliga Nord and in the Regionalliga Nord (3rd place in the Regionalliga 1965, DFB Cup semi-finals in 1964), VfB Lübeck 1968–1974 in the Regionalliga Nord (2nd place in 1969 and promotion to the Bundesliga, 3rd place 1971) as well as FC St. Pauli from 1965 to 1967 in the Regionalliga Nord (1966 champions, promotion round to the Bundesliga) and from 1974 to 1976 in the second Bundesliga North (1975: 3rd place), after which he became a talent scout for the 1976 Hamburger SV . He later coached VfB Lübeck (amateur league) in the 1979/80 season.
