Eduard Marcks

Carl Philipp Eduard Marcks (born December 27, 1806 in Mülheim an der Ruhr , † January 29, 1869 in Mülheim-Broich ) was a German judge and politician.

Life

Marcks was the son of the (Catholic) businessman and lawyer Dr. jur. Clemens Marcks . From 1826 the father was a deputy member of the provincial parliament of the Rhine Province . The mother was Christina (when Elisabeth (Elisa) died) born Springorum, c. Meininghaus and was Protestant-Lutheran. Marcks, who was of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination, remained unmarried.

Marcks studied law in Heidelberg and Berlin from 1825 to 1828. In 1828 he entered the Prussian civil service and became assessor in 1836, junior court assessor in Laasphe in 1838 and higher regional court assessor in Duisburg in 1839. In 1850 he became a district judge in Broich and from 1861 to 1869 district court director in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

After the March Revolution he belonged to the pre-parliament and was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly from May 18, 1848 to May 20, 1849 . In 1850 he belonged to the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
