Eduard Perings

Eduard Perings (born December 3, 1930 in Oberhausen ; † February 1, 2006 ) was a German physician and prorector of the Ruhr University in Bochum .

Life

Eduard studied medicine and in 1961 with the work the influence of potassium and adenosine triphosphate on the action potential of Froschmyokards at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg doctorate . In 1969 he qualified as a professor at the Georg-August University in Göttingen with the thesis Experimental and clinical studies on immunosuppressive therapy with azathioprine .

Perings was Vice Rector for Research at RUB from 1981 to 1989 and at the same time the first professor of clinical medicine to ever belong to the Rectorate . Thanks to Perings' commitment, the Ruhr-Universität Bochum achieved an international reputation and was assigned special research areas (SFB). The establishment of the Technologiezentrum Ruhr (TZR) in the vicinity of the university was also his success.

Eduard Perings was the head physician of the St. Josef Hospital Bochum-Linden for many years, but separated from him in 1989.
