life and work

Contrary to the recommendations of the local priest and the school teacher in Riedheim, Eduard Presser became a farmer - "on the basis of his father's irrefutable plans". At the age of 17 he took over his father's farm. A year earlier (1858) he had started with his "place and home chronicles". From 1875 to 1910 Eduard Presser was council clerk in his home town. During his lifetime he published rural poems from Höhgau (52 poems) and rural poems from Hegau (65 poems) in 1894 . After his death in 1911, 48 more poems were published. Another written estate was lost in the fall of 1911 when the Presser House burned. In 1932 a monument was inaugurated in his honor.
