Eduard Schmitz (District Administrator)

Karl Christian Eduard Schmitz (born May 10, 1838 at Malberg Castle ; † February 26, 1895 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Schmitz was a son of the chief forester and landowner Franz Gerhard Schmitz and his wife Ernestine geb. Freiin von Veyder-Malberg . He attended the Royal High School in Trier in Trier , where he passed the school leaving examination in 1858. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the Royal University of Greifswald for law. In 1858/59 he served as a one-year volunteer in the 2nd Jäger Battalion in Greifswald. In 1859 he was in the Corps Guestfalia Greifswald recipiert . He moved to the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1860 he joined the Corps Saxonia Bonn and the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . In 1862 he became an auscultator at the regional court in Trier, in 1865 a government trainee in Trier, in 1869 a government assessor with the government in Arnsberg, in 1873 in Merseburg, and in Köslin in 1875. On October 28, 1876, he was appointed provisional district administrator for the Wiedenbrück district , and on June 20, 1877, he was appointed definitively. On May 20, 1881, he was appointed provisional district administrator in the Gladbach district, where he was definitively appointed on January 4, 1882.
