Eduard Stieger

Eduard Stieger (born January 11, 1843 in Oedt , † January 18, 1930 in Berlin ) was a high-ranking official of the Prussian State Railways and from 1911 to 1918 Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Public Works .

Stieger studied law and was a court assessor in 1871. During his studies in 1864 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn . In 1872 he joined the Elberfeld Railway Directorate as an unskilled worker . In 1873 he became a government assessor there. In 1877 he became a member of the management and in 1880 Stieger was appointed railway director. He rose there to the rank of government councilor.

In 1894 he moved to the Prussian Ministry of Public Works as an unskilled worker. A year later he was appointed lecturing council there. In 1897 Stieger became President of the Cologne Railway Directorate .

In 1903 he was appointed the real secret councilor and ministerial director in the public works office. Since that time he has been deputy chairman of the state railway council. From 1911 Stieger was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry for Public Works and Deputy Agent at the Federal Council. On October 21, 1918 he was appointed a member of the Prussian manor house . On November 1, 1918, he left the service.
