List of the Prussian ministers of public works

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The first Prussian Minister of Public Works was appointed on April 17, 1878, when the Ministry was spun off from the Prussian Ministry of Commerce . Until then it was a separate department there.

Both ministries were then headed by Albert von Maybach in personal union. The ministry was responsible for the railways, waterways and construction - a kind of infrastructure ministry in today's understanding.

The office building was located in Berlin-Mitte at Voßstraße 35 and was expanded to Voßstraße 34 in 1908.

Individual evidence

  1. During his lifetime, other first names were sometimes used when it later became part of the literature. Therefore the full name is given.
  2. In the literature, sometimes different points in time are mentioned. This is because they refer to provisional assumption of office, appointment by the king and prime minister, formal inauguration; the same applies to a request for dismissal, approval of farewell and transfer of office / appointment of a successor. This can lead to gaps or overlaps, especially in turbulent times and if the predecessor is ill.
  3. as Minister of Commerce
  4. ^ Initially in personal union as Minister of Commerce; so provisionally since April 1878
