Suwaibou Sanneh (born October 30, 1990 in Soma ) is a track and field athlete from the West African state of Gambia . He runs the short distance over 100 and 200 meters. At the beginning of his career he took part in competitions in the 400-meter run .

Life

After attending primary school, Sanneh switched to the Gambia Senior Secondary School in Banjul in 2004 , where his athletic talent was discovered and promoted. He took part in numerous international competitions and won several medals. In 2007 he ran the 100 meters in 10.53 seconds and was only 0.3 seconds above the national record set by Jaysuma Saidy Ndure .

He took part in the Olympic Games for the first time in 2008.

Olympic games

Suwaibou Sanneh took part in a competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing : In the 100-meter race , Sanneh was assigned to the first round of the first group. He finished the competition in fifth place in a time of 10.52 seconds. He did not qualify for a second round, he reached 46th place out of all participants.

In London he took part in the Olympic Games a second time. This time he was able to qualify for the semi-finals with 10.21 seconds. Here he ran his personal best with 10.18, but he was eliminated as the last of his semi-final run.
