Avioimpex was a Macedonian airline based in Skopje and based at Skopje Airport .
history
The company was founded in 1992 under the name Interimpex-Avioimpex and was the air transport division of a trading company. From 1999 only the name Avioimpex was used for the entire company. Armed conflicts in the region led several times from a handicap to the complete cessation of flight operations. The Macedonian aviation authority CAA revoked the company's flight license in 2002 due to financial problems, whereupon the flight operations were stopped.
Destinations
Avioimpex operated from Skopje and Ohrid , with a focus in the flight plan on Switzerland and Germany . In Switzerland the destinations were Geneva and Zurich , in Germany one flew to Berlin (Schönefeld) , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt , Stuttgart and Hamburg . Other destinations were Copenhagen , Gothenburg , Istanbul , Ljubljana , Vienna and Zagreb .

Incidents
- On November 20, 1993 was Yakovlev Yak-42 D of the Russian Saratov Airlines ( Mark 42390 RA ) operated for Avioimpex, near the, Ohrid airport near the Ohrid airport flown (Macedonia) into a mountain. The machine was on its way from Geneva to Skopje when the pilots turned to Ohrid due to bad weather conditions. In this CFIT ( Controlled flight into terrain ) all 116 occupants were killed (see also Avioimpex flight 110 ) .
