The airport "Apostle Paulus" Ohrid ( Macedonian Аеродром Св. Апостол Павле Охрид Aerodrom Sv. Apostol Pavle Ohrid , Albanian  Aeroporti i Ohrit ) is the second largest international airport in North Macedonia .

history

Ohrid Airport was built in 1952 northeast of Lake Ohrid , it is located between the towns of Gorenci and Orovnik, nine kilometers northwest of Ohrid . At the beginning, the airport only had a grass runway 900 meters long. The first international flight was registered on July 5, 1953. In the meantime, a 2550 meter long asphalt runway has been built.

Airlines and Destinations

There are seasonal flights to Ohrid from Amsterdam , Tel Aviv , London , Brussels and Vienna and weekly from Zurich and Basel .
