Gorenci , Albanian Gorenca , is a place of the Opština (municipality) Debarca in the southwest of North Macedonia .
geography
The village is located at Ohrid Airport , around 8 kilometers northwest of Ohrid and around 5 kilometers east of Struga . The place is in front of a small valley where a small stream flows. In the village there is an old, unused mosque, a new mosque, a small church, a small village shop and a primary school, which the students attend up to fourth grade. Secondary schools are located in neighboring Ohrid and Trebeništa .
economy
Gorenci's village street was renewed in 2006. Vines are grown nearby, but they are planted to eat the grapes rather than to make wine. Many residents of the village have found work in a small textile factory in neighboring Orovnik . Otherwise, the residents are engaged in agriculture or commute to work in Struga or Ohrid.
population
The village has 316 inhabitants, out of which 169 Macedonians , 145 Gheg dialect Albanians and 2 are other nationalities. Of these, 142 are Orthodox and 165 Muslims .
Culture
Archaeological excavations have been carried out for some time, during which weapons with an age of about 2700 years have been found. The weapons are believed to be Greek weapons imported from the Illyrian tribe of the Encheleans .
