Friedrich Ernst Scheller

Friedrich Ernst Scheller (born November 15, 1791 in Klettenberg ; † December 21, 1869 in Frankfurt (Oder) ) was a lawyer and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Scheller was born as the son of the bailiff and manor owner Christian Johann Scheller . In 1809/1810 he began to study law in Göttingen . In 1813 he completed this and became a lawyer. In 1814 he took part in the wars of liberation as a volunteer with the Eichsfeld hunters . In 1814 he became a judge in Aachen and remained so until 1816 when he became president of the court in Krefeld . In 1820 he left Krefeld and went to Halberstadt , where he was a higher regional judge. This activity ended in 1826 and Scheller went to Berlin, where he worked for the Prussian Ministry of Justice. There he was then in 1830 a secret high tribunal councilor. A year later he became a lecturer council. In 1836 he went to Frankfurt (Oder) , where he became President of the Court of Appeal in 1836. On May 18, 1848 he was elected to the Frankfurt National Assembly. The 17th electoral district that elected him had 80,586 inhabitants and included Frankfurt (Oder) and some localities in the Lebus district . He was also elected by the Cottbus constituency, but refused this election in order to be able to fulfill his mandate from Frankfurt. He belonged to the right center and belonged to the Casino faction . He worked in three committees, from May 24, 1848 to April 12, 1849 in the committee for the draft of an imperial constitution , from July 1, 1848 to April 12, 1849 in the committee for the drafting of the law on ministerial responsibility and in the committee for the Initiation of the investigation against the MPs Robert Blum and Johann Georg Günther . 1849-1850 he was then a member of the 1st Chamber of the Prussian Landtag . In 1862 he was promoted to the Real Secret Senior Justice Council in Frankfurt. He retired in Frankfurt in 1869.
