Eduard Wilhelm Westphal

Eduard Wilhelm Westphal (born January 11, 1856 in Hamburg ; † July 7, 1916 there ) was a German lawyer and politician.

Life

Westphal received his doctorate in Göttingen in 1878 and was enrolled as a lawyer in Hamburg on December 11, 1878. In 1882 he joined the law firm of the Hamburg lawyers Julius Ludwig Seebohm and Julius Scharlach , which Scharlach's son Otto Scharlach also joined in 1903 . He had been a member of the board of the Hamburg Bar Association from 1902 and was its deputy chairman from 1912. He was a member of the Hamburg parliament from 1901 to 1913 as a member of the right-wing parliamentary group.

Eduard Wilhelm Westphal was married to Susanne Kaemmerer, a daughter of Georg Heinrich Kaemmerer . His father was Carl Wilhelm Ludwig Westphal , the social reformer Antonie Wilhelmine Traun was his sister and the Hamburg Senator Otto Eduard Westphal was his brother.

The historian and National Socialist Otto Westphal was his son.
