Eduard Will (born December 4, 1854 in Bözingen , † July 2, 1927 in Bern ; resident in Ste-Croix and Bern) was a Swiss politician .

Life

Will trained as an engraver and worked as a hardware dealer in Nidau around 1878 , and in Biel from 1892 . He co-founded the Hagneckwerk in 1898, was director of the United Kander and Hagneckwerke from 1903 to 1909 and then until 1926 director of the resulting Bernische Kraftwerke AG .

From 1889 to 1993 Will was a local councilor in Nidau ​​and from 1887 to 1909 in the Bernese Grand Council , which he presided over in 1909. For the Liberals, he sat in the National Council from 1896 to 1919 . As a militia officer and high corps commander, he commanded the 2nd Army Corps from 1910 to 1912 and the 3rd Army Corps, which was responsible for defending the southern border from 1914 to 1916 .

Will was one of the leading economic politicians in Bern at the time. As a military politician, he was also significantly involved in the military organization in 1907 and the troop order in 1911.
