Eduard von Frowein

Eduard Peter von Frowein (Prussian nobility: September 3, 1913) (born January 12, 1841 in Elberfeld ; † March 18, 1924 there ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Frowein was the son of the factory owner, city councilor and councilor August Frowein (1805-1850) and the Tekla Böddinghaus (1819-1897) and grandson of the last mayor of Elberfeld Abraham Frowein . After attending grammar school in Elberfeld, he studied law in Bonn and Berlin . During his studies in 1860 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn . He later joined the Hannovera Göttingen fraternity . In Berlin he did his military service in the 2nd Guard Uhlan Regiment .

In 1863 Frowein was as Auskultator the Court of Appeal set and 1865 for trainee promoted in 1869 to the court assistant and 1870 to the court commissioner. In 1870/71 he took part in the Franco-German War . From 1875 to 1876 Frowein was appointed provisional district administrator in the Kleve district and then took over the district office in the Rees district until 1888 .

He then followed a call as Administrative Court Director at the Administrative Court of Aachen , from where he was transferred to the Prussian Higher Administrative Court in Berlin in 1896 as a senior administrative judge. In 1914 he retired.

Eduard von Frowein was married to Johanna Wülfing (1851–1913), with whom he had two children. His daughter Alina Selma (1876–1956) later married District Administrator Georg Wilhelm Suermondt . During his years of service in Aachen, Frowein belonged to the Club Aachener Casino . Eduard von Frowein found his final resting place in the family crypt in the Reformed Cemetery in Elberfeld.
