The Administrative Court of Aachen is a court under the administrative jurisdiction of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Seat and District of the Court

The administrative court (VG) has its seat in Aachen . The judicial district includes the independent city of Aachen, the city ​​region of Aachen and the districts of Düren , Euskirchen and Heinsberg .

Courthouse

After the Second World War , the court was initially housed in rented premises on Rolandstrasse 30 . In 1967 the court moved to the newly built state authorities at Franzstrasse 49 . In the course of the enlargement of the court, another move to the property at Theaterplatz 13 followed . The court was then housed in the property at Kasernenstrasse 25 (now Karmeliterhöfe ). With the establishment of the North Rhine-Westphalian judiciary after the Second World War, the District Administrative Court of Aachen began its work in 1946. In 1948, the scope of duties was reorganized by an ordinance of the military government and the court was renamed the Regional Administrative Court of Aachen and later the Administrative Court of Aachen .
