Administrative Court of Münster
The Münster Administrative Court , a court of administrative jurisdiction , is one of seven administrative courts in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .
Seat and District of the Court
The administrative court (VG) has its seat in Münster . The judicial district comprises the area of the independent city of Münster and that of the districts of Borken , Coesfeld , Steinfurt and Warendorf .
Courthouse
The court resided in the "Heereman'schen Hof" on Königsstrasse until 1984 and has since been housed at Piusallee 38 in the former administration building of the Westphalian-Lippian Savings Banks and Giro Association . The building, which dates from the 1960s, is in need of renovation in many places and has been extensively renovated since 2018. During the renovation period, the court is housed in the Manfred-von-Richthofen-Straße 8 building.
history
In 1946, the court began its work as a district administrative court with initially only one judge. The resulting regional administrative court in 1961 had three chambers with eleven judges.
management
Manfred Koopmann, who previously headed the 22nd Senate at the Higher Administrative Court in Münster, has been president of the Münster Administrative Court since 2004. Elisabeth Rapsch has been the vice-president of the Münster Administrative Court since 2007.
Superior courts
The higher-level court is the Higher Administrative Court for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, also located in Münster . This is followed by the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig in the course of instances .
