Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco
Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco (* 1927 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish ambassador .
Life
Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid . In 1946 he was secretary of the 19th Congreso Mundial de Pax Romana of the Juventud estudiante católica . In 1947 he entered the Escuela de Diplomática and taught there as a professor in 1949.
In December 1950 he married Henriette López-Dóriga y Fletcher in the Iglesia San Jerónio el Real .
In 1950 he entered the diplomatic service and was accredited at the embassy in Paris . In 1956 he came to the Foreign Ministry, where from 1957 he headed the Politics department in Africa and took part in negotiating delegations to Morocco . From 1958 to 1963 he was responsible for the United Nations . From 1962 to 1963 he headed the Instituto Hispano-árabe de cultura y la política exterior .
On February 8, 1964, he brought his letter of accreditation as ambassador of the Moroccan government in Rabat . On May 13, 1969, he was Francisco Franco's representative at the ratification of the handover of Ifni to Morocco and a Spanish-Moroccan fisheries agreement. The two treaties were signed by Hassan II on January 4, 1969 in Fez . The international treaty was implemented in state law , that is, Hassan II issued the corresponding Dahir . At this act, the Foreign Minister Ahmed Laraki appeared on the Moroccan side .
In August 1970 he became the Spanish ambassador to Ecuador. In 1973 Jorge Taberna Latasa replaced him as ambassador to Quito Ecuador and Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco became head of the Misión Comercial de España en Moscú .
In 1978 Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco was on a special mission and was in discussion as ambassador for Algeria.
In 1981 Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco was the Spanish ambassador to Japan and was appointed State Secretary by the Felipe González government.
In January 1985 Eduardo Ibáñez y García de Velasco was ambassador to Japan and had an audience with Juan Carlos .
In 1986 he presented his book El hombre ante la nueva era tecnológica de la comunicación .
