Edvin Marton (actually: Lajos Edvin Csűry ; born February 17, 1974 in Wylok , Ukraine ) is a Hungarian composer and violinist .

Life

Marton was born in the small Ukrainian town of Wylok (Hungarian: Tiszaújlak ), near the border with Hungary, to a Hungarian family. He was very talented even as a child and was admitted to the State PI Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow in 1983. In the following years he studied in Budapest, New York and Vienna.

He plays a violin by Antonio Stradivari , from 1697. With this violin he accompanied the figure skaters Yevgeny Pljuschtschenko , Stéphane Lambiel and others in their freestyle and gave concerts in Germany and Switzerland.

In 2006 he received an Emmy . At the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 he and Yevgeny Pljuschtschenko helped the Russian Dima Bilan to victory.
