Sir Edward Mansel, 2nd Baronet († November 4, 1754 , according to other sources as early as May 10, 1754) was a British nobleman. He was a leader in establishing Freemasonry in Wales .

Edward Mansel came from a sideline of the Welsh Mansel family . He was the eldest son of Edward Mansel, 1st Baronet and his wife Dorothy Vaughan. After the death of his father in 1720, he inherited his title Baronet , of Trimsaran in the County of Carmarthen, as well as property at Trimsaran in South Wales. From 1728 to 1729 he served as sheriff of Carmarthenshire . Mansel initially belonged to the Sea Serjeants , a conservative secret society close to the Jacobites . He left this union, whereupon he co-founded the Masonic Lodge of Carmarthen in 1726 . This was the first Welsh Masonic Lodge and Mansel became its first Master of the Chair . Mansel was instrumental in the further development of Freemasonry in Wales. In the 1730s he was active in the Grand Lodge of England . He became the first Grand Master of the new Provincial Grand Lodge of Wales and held this post until his death.

In his first marriage Mansel had married Anne Price , a daughter of Thomas Price from Gorth-Lloyn in Carmarthenshire. She died in 1731. His second marriage was on November 3, 1740, in Hereford, a woman Bayley from Vineyard in Herefordshire , whose first name was probably Mary.

Mansel's first marriage had remained childless. With his second wife, he had at least one son who became his heir:
