Edward Louis Parnell (born June 21, 1875 in Bovey Tracey , † February 2, 1941 in Paignton ) was a British marksman and officer .

successes

Edward Parnell took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm in three disciplines. He finished the individual competition with the army rifle at 600 m with 84 points in 18th place. He finished the three-position fight over 300 m in 56th place. With the army rifle, he finished second with the British team over four different distances behind the United States and ahead of Sweden and thus secured the silver medal. Parnell was together with three other team members with 266 points each, the third best shooter of the team, which included Arthur Fulton , Henry Burr , James Reid , Harcourt Ommundsen and Edward Skilton .

His son Leslie Parnell died in Ypres in 1917 during the First World War . Parnell himself also served in World War I and retired as a major after the war .
