Edward Rutherfurd

Edward Rutherfurd (* 1948 in Salisbury , England) is a British writer and author of several historical novels . He became known through the historical novel Sarum , which was published in 1987 by Century Hutchinson Ltd. appeared; In 1988 its German edition was published.

Life

Rutherfurd was born in Salisbury in 1948. He studied English history and English literature at the universities of Cambridge and Stanford . After completing his studies, he worked in the book trade in New York City . It was there that he had the idea for a historical novel about his native Salisbury. Since 1990 he has lived in Dublin , Ireland .
