Edwin Kindle

Edwin Kindle (born May 14, 1942 - October 19, 1989 ) was a Liechtenstein engineer.

Life

education and profession

Kindle attended the Triesen elementary school and the Vaduz secondary school. After finishing school in 1958, he did an apprenticeship as a mechanic at Balzers AG. In 1962 he passed the final apprenticeship examination and now worked for Balzers AG. First in the physics laboratory, later in the design department for high vacuum valves. In addition to his work, he completed a degree in mechanical engineering at the evening technical center in Vaduz. In 1964 he worked in tool design at Hoval AG . In 1965 he was promoted to head of construction for tools and fixtures. In 1967, Kindle finally received its engineering degree. In 1976 he started to work in the development department of Hilti AG . After he became deputy development manager in 1981, he took over the management of the entire direct assembly development in 1984. 1986 Kindle went into business for himself and founded his own engineering office.

Political and social engagement

Kindle was involved in the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) founded in 1965 . In 1972 he was appointed to the Board of Trustees by the government. Four years later he took over the presidium of the development service and held this position for the next 13 years until 1988, when he resigned to devote himself more to his engineering office.

From 1975 to 1983 he was a member of the Triesen municipal council . From 1982 to 1986 he was a deputy member of the State Parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein for the Progressive Citizens' Party (FBP) and as such was a member of the Liechtenstein parliamentary delegation to the Council of Europe from 1982 to 1984 .

In 1976 Kindle was one of the co-founders of the Triesen Samaritan Association and was its president until his death. He also represented the umbrella organization of the Liechtenstein Samaritan Association in the Executive Committee of the Liechtenstein Red Cross, was a member of the supervisory board of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank , was the founder and president of the engineering association "Archimedes" and a member of the European working group for adult education in the Third World and was a member of the executive board of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank Caritas.

family

On October 19, 1989, Kindle died of a myocardial infarction at the age of 47 . He had been married to Trudy Moser from Rorschach since May 6, 1967. The marriage resulted in three children, a son and two daughters. His son Elmar later became a member of the state parliament.
