Edwin Plowden, Baron Plowden

Edwin Noel Auguste Plowden, Baron Plowden (born January 6, 1907 , † February 15, 2001 ) was a British industrialist and official in the HM Treasury .

Life

Until 1929 he attended Pembroke College in Cambridge . On February 17, 1959, he was awarded the title Baron Plowden, of Plowden in the County of Salop . In the 1979/80 session he was a member of the Committee for the European Communities . He died of hypertension . His wife Bridget Plowden (Lady Plowden) chaired a group that wrote the 1967 Plowden Report on Primary Education .
