Edwin doubt

Edwin Zweifel (* 1897 ; † October 11, 1964 in Lugano ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Life

The doctor of law became secretary of the arbitration board in 1922 and public prosecutor for the canton of Basel-Stadt in 1932 . From 1933 he was a member of the Grand Council . On December 2, 1934, he was elected to the government council of the canton of Basel-Stadt as the successor to Friedrich Aemmer, who had suffered an accident . Until May 15, 1962, when he resigned for health reasons, he was the head of the medical department. In the years of office 1936/37, 1942/43, 1949/50 and 1956/57 he was President of the Government Council.

Edwin Zweifel was married to Elsa Zweifel-Kron (* 1898) from 1924 and had a son.
