Efim Naumowitsch Ruchlis

Efim Naumowitsch Ruchlis ( Ukrainian Ефим Рухлис , Russian Ефим Наумович Рухлис ; born April 9, 1925 in Ananjiw ( Odessa Oblast ); † February 5, 2006 in Israel) was a well-known two-trainer chess composer .

Life

Ruchlis was a leading railroad engineer. In World War II, his family moved to Uzbekistan. In 1990 he moved to Israel, where he lived with two daughters in Petach-Tivka and Beer-Sheva. He has suffered from Alzheimer's disease in recent years . In addition to the two daughters, Ruchlis left four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Chess composition

Since 1937 he has published 170 chess problems, mainly two moves. He was awarded 125 awards at tournaments, including 60 prizes, including 30 first prizes. His best compositions are characterized by depth of thought, high technique and mastery.

In 1956 Ruchlis became International Chess Composition Referee and in 1961 Master of Sports of the USSR . He is the inventor of a two-pass topic named after him, the root problem of which, shown below, appeared in 1946.

Ruchlis theme: In a two Züger followed by at least two sets of defenses as many new Matts, while the set of matt's done with new defenses. The thematic defenses here are 1.… Bd4 and 1.… Rd4, on each of which there is a mate change (set: 2. De4 / Nc3, solution: 2. Nf6 / Nb4). The thematic Matt trains 2. De4 and second Sc3 again follow in the solution to changing black defenses or parades ( Parade change , set: 1. ... Ld4 / Td4, Solution: 1. ... T d3 / Bd3). A Ruchlis always includes at least two mate and two parade changes.

Up to 2009 a total of at least 321 tasks with the ideal Ruchlis topic were constructed.
