Efstratios Anastasiadis

Efstratios "Stratis" Anastasiadis (born August 14, 1919 in Thessaloniki , † June 25, 2004 in Berlin ) was a Greek agricultural scientist . He worked as a research assistant at the Plant Production Section of the Humboldt University in Berlin.

Life

In March 1942 he passed the state examination in the Agronomic Forestry Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki . From March 1941 to October 1944 he was active in Greek resistance groups, from March to October 1944 as an armed fighter; he was a recognized fighter of the national resistance. He then emigrated to Yugoslavia , where he worked as a farmer in Bulkes (Voivodina). At the beginning of 1950 he went to Romania and worked there in Bucharest for four years as a board member of the Association of Greek Emigrants, in 1955 as a farmer in the Craiova District Office, and then again for four years in the publishing house of the Association of Greek Emigrants. From Romania he went to the GDR in 1957 . From 1957 to 1958 he worked as an editor in the Phönix-Druckerei- und Verlag GmbH in Halle (Saale) , from 1958 to May 1963 as translator and editor in the district management of the SED in Halle (Saale). From 1963 he was a research assistant at the Humboldt University.

He received his doctorate in agricultural sciences in December 1966 and was qualified to teach at Humboldt University in May 1976.

In April 1979 he was retired due to invalidity . He received an honorary pension for fighters persecuted by the Nazi regime .
