Egbert Ulrich

Egbert Ulrich (born November 29, 1962 in Wolfsburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Ulrich attended elementary school in Wolfsburg and Neuwied and high school in Neuwied and Trier , where he also passed his Abitur. He then studied geography and political science in Trier and Mannheim and trained as an organizational secretary and social officer at the Catholic Social Institute in Bad Honnef . In 1999 he was appointed state-approved social secretary. Egbert Ulrich has 3 sons and 1 daughter.

In 1989 Ulrich became regional secretary of the Catholic Workers' Movement in the Saar district, and in 2008 he became educational officer for Catholic adult education in the Trier diocese at the Saarbrücken branch . He gave up this job when he moved up to the Saarland state parliament.

Ulrich became a member of the CDA in 1988 and a member of the CDU in 1993. From 1993 to 1995 and again since 2007 he has been a member of the CDU state executive committee, also in 2007 he became the state chairman and member of the federal executive committee. Since 1996 he has been a member of the board of the CDU Hostenbach . From 2001 to 2005 he was chairman of the CDU community association Wadgassen and then until 2011 deputy chairman. From 1999 to 2008 Ulrich was a member of the Wadgassen local council, from 2000 chairman of the CDU local council group and from 2004 an alderman for the Wadgassen community.

From August 24, 2011 to 2012, he sat in the Saarland state parliament , replacing the former Prime Minister Peter Müller .

Egbert Ulrich ran for the mayoral election in 2013 in the municipality of Wadgassen, where he lost in the runoff against the free candidate Sebastian Greiber.
