Egede is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon on the southern edge of Mare Frigoris , southwest of the large Aristotle crater and northeast of Eudoxus . The wall is badly eroded and the interior is flooded with lava .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Danish naturalist Hans Egede .
