List of German ambassadors in Kosovo

The list of German ambassadors in Kosovo contains the ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kosovo . The embassy is based in Pristina .

Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008 . On February 20, 2008, the Federal Republic of Germany recognized Kosovo as a sovereign state. As a result, both states established diplomatic relations. Berlin sent Hans-Dieter Steinbach as the first German ambassador to Pristina, and Kosovo Vilson Mirdita as the first Kosovar ambassador to Berlin .
