Peter-Christof Blomeyer

Peter-Christof Blomeyer (born January 17, 1959 in Bremen ) is a German diplomat . He has been Consul General in Novosibirsk since December 2018 .

Life

Blomeyer studied economics , law and history .

In 1990 he joined the Foreign Service. After two years of preparatory service, his first assignment abroad followed in 1992 at the German embassy in Tokyo . After returning to the Federal Foreign Office in Bonn from 1995 to 1998, he was deputy head of the German embassy in Tirana from 1998 to 2001 . From 2001 to 2004, Blomeyer was deputy head of department in the Federal Foreign Office , then until 2007 deputy head of the German embassy in Riyadh . In 2007 he was appointed head of the department for immigration law in Berlin.

In August 2010 he succeeded Axel Weishaupt as German ambassador in Kinshasa , in October 2012 Ernst Reichel as German ambassador in Pristina and in 2014 Klaus Dieter Düxmann as German ambassador in Kampala . In 2017 he moved to the Foreign Office and became head of the return management team. In December 2018 he became consul general in Novosibirsk.

Blomeyer is married and has one child.
