The Principality of Andorra received its full state independence in 1993. The Federal Republic of Germany recognized Andorra in 1994 as the fourth state under international law.

Germany does not have its own embassy in Andorra. The German ambassador in Madrid is double accredited for Andorra . He traditionally presents his credentials to the Co-Prince of Andorra , the Bishop of Urgell .

The consular relations are handled by the German Consulate General in Barcelona . There is also a German honorary consul in Andorra's capital, Andorra la Vella .

The Andorran ambassador in Brussels is responsible for Germany .
