Tärivere is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse (until 2017 Iisaku ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 51 inhabitants (as of October 16, 2010). At the place is the mountain of the same name ( Tärivere mägi ). At 94 meters, it is the highest natural elevation in the Ida-Viru district. There is a 28 meter high viewing platform on the mountain. From there there is a broad view of the forest landscape. When the weather is clear, the viewer can look up to the Russian Orthodox nunnery of Pühitsa and Lake Peipus .

Tärivere is probably the oldest village in the former Iisaku rural community. It was first mentioned in a document in 1330. From the former Tärivere estate, the cellar vaults of a storage facility and the schnapps distillery are still preserved today.
