Edivere is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse (until 2017 Illuka ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 28 inhabitants (as of 2011).

In Edivere archaeologists suspect an earlier castle hill ( linnamägi ) of the pagan Estonians. He is twenty meters high. Its length is 200 meters, its width 130 to 140 meters. However, the scientists could not reliably prove any defenses. Today the mountain is overgrown with forest.
