Ratva is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse (until 2017 Mäetaguse ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 44 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011).

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1241. It is located in a karst area .

The forty-square-kilometer Ratva bog ( Ratva raba ) begins three kilometers south of the village . It is under nature protection. The thirty hectare lake Ratva ( Ratva järv ) lies in the moor . The Ojamaa River ( Ojamaa jõgi ) flows through it .
