Atsalama is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse ( Mäetaguse until 2017 ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 91 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011).

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1241. The Atsalama estate is documented for the 14th century, but it later disappeared.

Is best known historic tavern of Koltsina, which today is one of Atsalama. The building from the 19th century is the second longest jug in Estonia with a length of 70 meters .
