Aruküla (Alutaguse)

Aruküla is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse (until 2017 Mäetaguse ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .
Description and history
The village has 31 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011). It is located north of the main town Mäetaguse .
During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, the village was known for the Kevade kolkhoz ("spring").
Personalities
The most famous son of the place is the Estonian chemist Leevi Mölder (born 1933). He has made a particular contribution to researching oil shale and the possible uses of biodiesel .
