Vasavere is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Alutaguse (until 2017 Illuka ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 102 inhabitants (as of 2011).

Vasavere was first mentioned in a document in 1241.

Lake Pannjärve is located near the village as part of an extensive lake landscape. There is a modern health sports center on its banks. In winter the center is a popular destination for fans of cross-country skiing . There is the possibility of tobogganing there all year round .
